Foreign Students Guide
 This guide is for foreign students wishing to study at Tokyo Gakkan Urayasu Senior High School, who have applied for admission directly to the school.  For students whose applications were processed through academic placements agencies or sister schools, the students should agree to abide by the arrangements made with the agencies or the sister schools and with the school.


1  Admission Requirements

(1) Students should be Junior High School graduates or be registered at a high school in their native countries.

(2) Have; A parent or relative presently living in Japan.
                                               or
            A Japanese guarantor residing in Japan.
                                               or
            An academic placements agency in Japan.

2 Time of Admissions

 The registration of new students will be at the beginning of each term. (April, September, January)

3 Curriculum & Club Activities

(1) Foreign students will be enrolled in the International Course, and be required to follow its Course curriculum.
 

 They will also attend intensive Japanese language classes.

(2) They can participate in any of the school club activities.

4 Certificate

(1) After completion of between one term to one year, the students will be awarded certificates of achievement.

(2) Students, who have been studying for more than one year including the third grade of Senior High School, will be awarded the Certificate of Graduation after attaining the required credits for foreign students in the International Course.

5 School Fees etc.

Application Fee : 18,000 yen
Entrance Costs
@@Costs of Admission : 320,000 yen (Facilities Fee included.)

@@School Uniform, Text Books for the First Year, etc.@:@200,000yen
Monthly Fees

@@Tuition : 28,000 yen
@@Membership Fee for Parents Association@:@8,000yen
@@Reserve for Extra Curriculatar Activities including School Excursion to Australia and for Graduation Certificate, etc. : 10,000 yen.

6 Required Documentation for Admission

(1) A completed application form for international students. A form is provided.

(2) A letter of recommendation from your school or junior high school principal.

(3) An official record of school attainment and achievements covering the past three years.

(4) A short essay stating your reasons for wanting to study at Tokyo Gakkan Urayasu Senior High School.  In English or Japanese.

(5) A written pledge signed by a parent and a guarantor in Japan to abide by the school rules.  A standard form is provided.

7 Application Procedure

(1) Selection : Selection will be made on the basis of the forms provided.
 There are no entrance examinations.

(2) Application Deadline : Students should apply a minimum of 4 months before starting the course.

(3) Notification of Results : Applicants will be notified of their results one month after receipt of the completed application forms.
*The school will require an interview with either the academic placements agency or the guarantor in Japan before the student registers with the school.
